Roger Kuroda, PhD

Roger Kuroda has held a number of management and executive positions.  Immediately prior to TPT, he was Senior Vice President of Manufacturing for Quantum Leap Packaging.  Before that, he was Vice President of Engineering for XCom Wireless, an RF MEMS company.  Prior to that, Kuroda was Vice President of Engineering at Zucotto, a processor and software company and Shellcase, a wafer level packaging company.  At Kyocera America, Kuroda was the Flip Chip Packaging Division manager, and R&D Center manager.

Kuroda started his career at TRW in Redondo Beach, California, where he was program manager for the passive millimeter (W-Band) focal plane array program, and a RF Satellite Test manager.  He has experience in microelectronic packaging and assembly, thick and thin film processes, designing tunable filters, switches, phase shifters and antennas, W-band video camera, Java processors/software for handsets, lasers, and optics, in both commercial and military areas.  Kuroda has numerous publications and patents.

Kuroda graduated from the University of California, Davis with a BS in Applied Physics with specialties in Material Science and Chemistry.  He earned his MS and PhD at the University of Southern California in Physics.  He lives in Poway, California with his family.

David Grooms
CEO

David Grooms is an experienced CEO with substantial background at both large, public and small, emerging technology companies.  He has experience in the semiconductor and wireless sector in both software and hardware.  Grooms is known in the industry for his strong strategic business orientation and the ability to communicate concisely to customers, employees, investors, and boards.  He has significant international experience with emphasis on Japan, Southeast Asia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Grooms' decisive operating style, focused on establishing profitability, has lent itself to several successful ventures.  He spent 20 years at Kyocera, the last 5 years as president of both Kyocera America, in San Diego, California and Kyocera Mexico, in Tijuana, Baja California.  He has also served as CEO and/or chairperson of software, fabless semiconductor, optics, and manufacturing companies.

Most recently, Grooms was CEO of Quantum Leap Packaging, a developer of enabling technologies for structural polymers and semiconductor technologies.

Grooms graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BA in History.  He lives in Poway, California with his family.
